Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Azure Integration & Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-based integration and backend data processing solutions. This role focuses on enabling reliable system-to-system communication, structured data processing, and secure data movement across enterprise platforms in a cloud-first environment.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in Azure integration services, backend data workflows, and complex data transformation logic.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement cloud-based integration workflows using Azure services

Develop backend data processing pipelines for file-based and API-based integrations

Build transformation logic for JSON, XML, and other structured data formats

Implement validation, routing, and conditional data processing

Develop and maintain Azure Functions for parsing and transformation logic

Work with message queues, event-driven workflows, and file integrations

Design and maintain staging and operational databases in Azure SQL

Implement secure system-to-system communication

Ensure reliability through logging, monitoring, retries, and exception handling

Collaborate with downstream data and analytics teams

Support performance optimization, troubleshooting, and operational stability

Required Technical Skills

Azure cloud workflows and services: Logic Apps, Azure Functions (Python/C#), Azure SQL development, and secure Blob/file storage

REST APIs and integration design patterns

JSON, XML, and structured data mapping

Event-driven architecture fundamentals

Error handling, monitoring, and retry strategy implementation

Git and CI/CD practices

Preferred / Added Advantage

Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, including Data Pipelines, Lakehouse, or OneLake concepts

Experience working with modern cloud data lake architectures

Familiarity with ETL/ELT data movement into analytics platforms

API gateway or API management experience

Messaging platforms (queues, pub/sub models, event systems)

Experience with industry-standard structured document formats

Practical experience building software in U.S. healthcare environments, accounting for HIPAA, PHI handling, and regulated data flows.

Experience writing and maintaining production code that leverages generative AI
